2014 Team Inductee

Members of the 1966-67 Bishop Guilfoyle High School boys basketball team that won the PCIAA championship gathered at the 2014 Blair County Sports Hall of Fame banquet with guest speaker James Franklin.

Back row: Tim Muri, Tom Turchetta, Thom Geishauser, Jeff Muller, Penn State football coach James Franklin, head coach Bill Gaffey, Rocky Pacifico (representing late assistant coach Al Pacifico), Bill Shover, Don Runk and Jim Georgiana.
Other members of the team included: Bill Adams, Dave Oliver, Dick Steinbeiser, Mark Hoover and the late Len Zandy (assistant coach).

Hall of Fame achievement: The 1966-67 Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders won the Pennsylvania Catholic Interscholastic Athletic Association (PCIAA), the first high school basketball team from the city of Altoona, boys or girls, to win a state basketball championship.
